I have an '84 Westy that is shaking on the highway (speeds above 50 mph). The shaking can be alleviated while driving around a bend in the road, either direction. If I don't drive like I'm negotiating a slalom course it feels like she will shake apart. Any ideas?

It could be about anything. I would take it to a shop pretty soon to check it all out.
Make sure your steering staiblizer is OK. |

When is the last time the tires were balanced?
Also, jack it up and spin the wheels freely and see if you have one that is egg-shaped. Belts on tires can break for no reason and cause a severe vib. |
