...looking at an '85 1.9 w/ Manual 4 speed
VS. '86 2.1 w/ Automatic 3 speed
...which has more get up and go power
& highway cruzing (how does the 3 speed auto do on our 65 mph min. speed limit freeways) capability?
and any problems encountered more on one or the other..? |

I'd pick the manual on general principle. 8)

I would go with the 2.1 automatic.
I have a 84 1.9 Westy automatic and a 87 syncro.
The 1.9 Westy only does 65 downhill.
Synco did (right now the engine is apart) 70 mph comfortably according to gps.
