Hey Islandguy,

What part of your AFM fails the Bentley VOM test?

The "resistance strip" test (I am using the 80-81 factory manual), the one where you check between terminals 7+6 and 7+8 and slowly move the flap at the same time. Resistance is not to exceed 500 ohms while flap moves, and mine is fine while the flap is parked, but as soon as the flap moves, the ohms are off the chart, no resistance at all in some places. This tells me as the flap is moving, incorrect values are being sent to the ECU for different air volumes. And to re-cap, the flap is sticking a bit, but still returns to closed position (but for how long?)

To compare to Matthew's AFM, there is no resistance at all on the same terminals. Terminal 7 is an open circuit with the flap closed or open....

There you have it.
