When I first bought this bug it was to use the floor pan for my baja which was completely rotted through(driverside seat falling through floor while driving). But once I got this car home it was in great shape only surface rust on the top, so I decided to give this car attention and put the baja on the back burner for now. Before I start posting pics the car only cost me $160.00 tags current but no motor. Here are some shots before I had the paint done. The five spokes were put on after I bought it.
I then had the body work done (the hood had a few dent...minor..and at one time some one had bolted a roof rack to the roof and the holes left by that had to be filled. I got the color scheme from a bus in Hot Vw's (can't remember what month but the Bus was from Hawaii) Black on top and House of Kolor's Planet Green on the bottom.

I then installed the front carpet and new Scat procar grey seats
Got the electrical reinstalled and the motor to(1600DP with dual Kads)
Installed one piece windows, not sure if I'm going to like them or not (kit wasn't all that good for the snap in seals :?
Getting the rear interior in
Seat belts and quarter panels in
Forgot to mention that I also decided to have a sliding ragtop installed, aftermarket kit from www.streetbeatcustoms.com, had an upholster install and this is what it looked like after they had it for a few weeks with the decklid now installed. Dirty.
Nice side shot with rag opened (only thing left to do is have the wheels polished and get a new set of caps and lugs

Gotta say, the first pics I thought it was a major project. Did an outstanding job putting it together and looks really sharp. The color combo looks great together also. Would like to see a narrowed beam and some diff. wheels and the car on the ground more.
Keep up the good work! |

| Thanks for the replies, it makes all the effort worth it when others can appriecate what you've done. Even with as much as I've done to my car there is always room for improvement. Bill what type wheels would you suggest if it were your ride? Thanks again! |

If it were my ride, I would narrow the beam and drop it down a little more. Then for wheels, chromed randars would look pretty killer - or even chromed BRMs. Would suggest something flashy to offset your paint combo...but this is just my opinion. |
