Hi peeps, after a while just uploading and watching pix its time to introduce myself:
I'm Gerk (yes that's Dutch ;)), 24 yrs old and from the northern part Holland.
In the scene for a little while now, first had a 1983 Hecho in Mechico bug, but sold it while it was in progress.
Always wanted a pre-64 bug so started searchin'.

After a few weeks I got an email from a guy in Sweden, well known by a friend of mine.
He had a beetle for sale so i asked for some pix!
To cut a long story short: there it was, my new ride! The transport from Sweden took two days
so 25th of april this year this arrived in Holland:

A 1961 Berylgreen DeLuxe Beetle with a milage of 33000km's!!! I'm the 3rd owner! Very cool all this,
even got all the papers with it.
It's got the steeringwheel, handbreak-lever and shifter in car-colour also.
Car had 1 paintjob done in Sweden and after that it was stored in a dry barn for 6 years.
Brakes got stuck in that time, but the engine ran well after 6 years of nothing.

Next day i made some daylight pix and could take a good look at the interior, it all looks great!
Driver's seat and the velours under the back-window need a little TLC.

As i said, the engine ran well, BUT there was an electric-problem! The generator did not do his thing,
empty battery and so on, I decided to do a 12v convertion right away!
Did have it planned for the future, why not right now? All electric on the car has already (02-06-05)
been exchanged to 12v parts, now waiting for a 12v wipermotor, ordered @ CSP.

More updates to come, I'll keep you guys posted 8)

Well enjoy all this, looking forward to your comments!
More pictures are posted here.

See ya! 8)

Cruisin'!!! :D 8)

Tech: First it has to be imported (license plates and all) and the it's getting lowered, going to look around for some nice wheels.
Maybe later on another engine.

First things first, this thing needs to get on the road!

Last weekend at a local Aircooled meeting I found the mirrors I always wanted to have: Albert "Swan Neck" mirrors. Not just one, but a pair!! Me so happy :):)

Tried them on the car already, I think they are great and look even greater :D:D

Hi Gerk!

Your car's great!!! And so is the colour!! My parents had a bug that colour way back as well.

Congrats on the swan's. That was a really nice find! Was the price reasonable too??

I'll have a car like that one day.... one day.... 8)

What a beautiful car! You are so lucky.

I want to own (someday) a 62 ragtop in Beryl green. I currently have a 66 that was painted in Beryl by a previous owner, so I'm making do with that for now.

Enjoy!

Last weekend @ the Budel show in Holland i bought the last missing parts for my Alberts.
My leftside glass was 'old' and the white ring was broken.
Luckily i found some KG Albert mirrors and that glass is same size!

Now everything is complete they look great!
Can't wait to mount them on the car, but it is still undergoing a little facelift ;)

Here's the shit 8)

Hi guys!
It's been very quiet round my car, cause I was very busy getting the car ready for Dutch registration.
Because it's from Sweden it had to get a dutch reg. nr. to get 'street-legal' over here.
Wednesday, 20-07, i've been to the RDW (Dutch license registration) where the car is inspected.
It came thru the test and now its street-legal!!

Already ordered license plates, waiting for them to arrive :)
Hopefully they get here 2day, so i can cruise down the weekend 8)
This saturday there's a meeting round the corner, would be great to be there with my '61!!!

So proud of it now its officially on the road!! :D
Here some pix of the big day 8)

Ready for the first 'drive'

Rollin' down the motorway, running its first miles

Fits in the landscape, doesn't it?
