Hi all,
Should have these replaced or shoot some rust bullet over them?
Which is more cost effective?
Thanks in advance! |

Got any pics? I mean rust bullet is not going to repair holes or what may be inside the rails or the channels... usually what you see from the outside is much worse on the inside when you cut open the can of worms as they say.
Heater channel repair and or replacement would require new rails anyway as you need to remove them from a vert body to work on them.
Not for the weak at heart or pocket book unless you have all the tools and skills and time to do it yourself |

| if look bad enough for you to ask, then they should be replaced. if these get too rust the car body will literally 'sag' and the gap at the top of the door will become larger that at the bottom, then you have real problems as the door can pop open going over speed bumps and dips in the road and the convertible top will be thrown out of adjustment, not fitting properly at the windshield..fix it right cry once..replace the rails and or fix or replace the heater channels as needed... |

The only way to "fix" it is to replace the rusted/rotted sheetmetal.
Like already said... it's a major project.
Rust Bullet, Por15 and others might stop it from getting worse, but those are structural parts and it might be unsafe to continute driving the car. |
