how about a standardized price system? something like craigslist.
so then you can offer more search options, based on prices.

I haven't done this in the past because of the need for "obo" "make offer" etc ads. Plus all the different worldwide currencies.
I'm not sure what craig's list does if you put "make offer"? I did notice if you do a price search on there, you miss all the ads without prices. |

It would be a cool if each ad included code to calculate prices in real-time using exchange rates from xe.com.
But I have no idea how to do it. I'm more of an idea man. |

I added sorting by price to the individual categories today using a few tricks. :)
I may add it to the Search screen later, it requires a bunch of changes and will not really return a complete and valuable listing due to prices like "1000US/5000 Euro" etc.. |

Signatures are open to anything you want, as long as it is not offensive or NSFW. Although, that signature is a bit long and annoying.
You can turn off signatures in the Control Panel if you don't want to see them. |

Ev--could you restrict the price field to numeric data only (except for wanted ads)? That would get rid of the OBOs and allow for sorting by price. Nobody would want to search the "items wanted" category by price anyway so you could exclude it from searches.
Just a thought. |

| I think OBO is an integral part of selling something. Although maybe it's safe to assume everything is OBO. |

| Add a checkbox to the posting entry. If they check it, "OBO" displays after the price but you keep the text out of the numeric field. |
