I have a 2110 in baja bug with a bus trans. I have been having a little trouble with it lately. When taking off from a light it makes a grinding gear sound, then will go away after a you get going a little bit....
Also when coming to a stop, it seems the clutch is not fulling releasing, as the car still wants to go a little or stall. From nuetral putting it in gear, you have ot rev it, to go into gear. It sounds like the clutch isnt fully enganging, but we checked all linkage and it is good. It will also sometimes do it when the car is in Nuetral, thats why it is throwing me for a loop. Any help would be great. Thanks |

Little vague,
but you might have a throw out bearing ready to go.

Thanks guys, I will check that first. Is there better throw out bearings than others??
It isn't a constant sound, it is out of first gear and maybe second also. It goes away by the time I am half way through the gear. It also got a little bit harder to shift....are these all syptoms of that bearing still?? |

| You may also have a worn or broken clutch disk, that will cause hard shifting also. |

| Just get a German one and it will do great. Even if it is not your problem I would replace the clutch while your at it. Make sure the tranny and P/P match also. Also check the arm one of the fingers could be bent. |
