All other lights on my 73 are working, but the reverse lights are a no go. Not the bulbs. They are brand new. Something with the switch probably, but what is the fix?

you might have the problem i had. there is a + wire that powers the bulbs, it goes to the starter. now what i have found is that this wire was ripped off of mine and was the only reason that it didnt work. now that i remember it i have it electrical taped together. but any who you might want to check this. but before you start touching it to stuff and shorting it out get a manual with a good wireing diagram in it. it should be listed as the backup circitry. and make sure you wire it up correctly. if this is really the problem. good luck

Wrong. If that were so, your backup lights would only be on while you are cranking.
The power for the backup lights comes from the + side of the coil. It goes through an inline fuse holder, around the right side of the shroud, through the forward tin to the switch on the nosecone. From there it returns through the forward tin and connects to the harnes that feeds the tail light assemblies. |

And then the next day you have a dead battery. That's why you shouldn't hook them up to the starter.

They are too easy to wire up, I did it the other week when I changed transmissions and they work perfectly now.
