| I was wondering how to take surface rust off the chrome bumpers and hubcaps of my beetle without scratching the heck out of it. I'm pretty sure this is easily fixed but I just want to know the best way to fix it. Thanks. :) |

If it's not that bad, you could try some Turtle wax chrome polish.
I had a set of rims that had rust dots all over them, used the polish and turned out like new. |

If the pitting is too far gone ,then it will come back. If the pits are through the chrome then your're screwd.

brillo pad works good for old pitted bumpers but nice bumpers with a lil rust use chrome polish. or let them rust to death and say they are origanal equipment. LOL
peace out |

I use Brillo pads, and if I'm down to where I've got a lot of steel showing through the chrome, I'll spray on a clearcoat: KrylonŽ Triple-Thick Crystal Clear Glaze or the like.

| 0000 steel wool and the chrome polish make a nice paste to work with. Works for me anyway... |
