| While brousing through a brochure i have that explains the differences between all the years, i noticed in 54 it says "break-in driving requirement dropped for engine", why would this be? Just curious... |

From what I 've heard, that's because VW supposedly ran them at the factory long enough to consider them being broken in.

| That is what the book says, no break in required, but it's always wise to do so. |

WHAT! am I missing something or does everyone but me still have an og 36 horse motor that still needs breaking in?

Seems like you've been left out in the cold, I have 5 og motors. :lol:
Just kidding, I'm assuming the guy is talking about a rebuilt motor. The book does say no break in required but that was when the book was printed. That's why I said it's always wise to do so. |

| Actually, I think he just wanted to know why the book said that there was no need for a "break-in". At least that is what I get when he says he is "just curious". |
