From what I've seen, there are two types of lowered beams:
1. Has a nut & bolt combination right smack dab in the middle of the beam tubes that resides in a 2" (or so) groove that allows the flat springs inside to be turned up or down for raising or lowering. This would be an adjustable beam.
2. Has had a 4" (or so) section of the beam cut out with a welding torch and then re-welded back together after rotating for desired front-end height. Like #1 above, this will be right in the center of the beam.
Sorry this not very technical, but basically you're looking for something other than standard flat tubes in the middle of your beam. |

yeah it looks like i do have something in the middle of the beam. so i guess i dont have a stock beam. if this is true then what is the right procedure to adjust it. do i need to take it off or do i need to jack the car up? it would help me even more.
thanks for giving me good hopes.

A stock beam will have one set screw and nut near the bottum of each 2" tube. The adjustable beams will have 2 set screws and nuts on each tube. Unless, it has been cut and welded to a determined hight.
There may be other types out there that I have not seen. :!: |
