Just the usual H pattern. Reverse is odd. Go into neutral, press down and go into second, that is your reverse gear. |

Not all of the shifters are pressed down for reverse, I have an EMPI shifter where you pull up on a finger loop. But the position you move into is the same. |

what's funny is when you've been driving a VW for awhile, then you get in a standard 5-speed and try to push down and can't figure why you can't grab reverse. or, you go around town in 4th gear all day |

It's also funny when I get back in our truck which has an automatic transmission after driving the bug for a while... I'm stomping on the floor for a clutch that isn't there and reaching for a non-existant shifter! |

what do you guys think of these new dsg type transmitions? (paddle shifters). they say that they are not as good in terms of performance but the vw/audi dsg one is the best. |
