Hello
I've been trawling through and as yet haven't had much joy at finding out how to convert a '61 bug from a 6V to a 12V. The gearbox has been ground out to accept the 12V flywheel and the starter motor has been replaced already. I am however unsure what electrical parts need replacing and was wondering if anyone had a checklist.
Thanks.

In the vw magz, there is a complete 6 to 12 V kit and it costs about $136 or so. I believe SoCAl Imports or something has them. Or Pacific J-Bugs. I used that on a 61 i used to have and it worked out great. The kit has all the components, including light bulbs etc.... |
