| Tried to bleed front brakes on my 72 beetle and with the bleeder open and the pedal pumped up no fluid squirted out. The pedal stayed hard. When bleeding the rear brakes the system worked normally. What's going on? All new parts and a new german master cylinder last year. Thanks, gelcoat bob. |

this happened to me once too. in my case it was gunk plugin' up the bleeder screw from the inside. one tiny piece of gunk...but it was blocking the end of the screw...
... try taking the bleeder screw out and checking that it's clear. also in my experience when you pull the bleeder on a working brake system fluid should dribble out. if no fluid try to work a pipe cleaner in the hole and see what comes out.
... first thing though make sure that the wheel cylinder is actually functioning |

| you implied BOTH front wheels had no fluid coming out..doesnt beetles use a dual circuit master cylinder? if so, sounds like the front half has something wrong with it. im a VW newbie, but i've had that happen on other vehicles. just a thought |

If the cylinders work, then there's gunk preventing them from bleeding. If the cylinders on the fronts don't work, the master is failing. |

| OR. . . . . . if it is only the one side check that the rubber line hasn't swollen shut with age. |
