The glove box on my 71 Super Beetle is now stuck shut. It does not have a lock. How do I get into it? I have tried prying open with a screwdriver, but I do not want to do any damage. It would be nice to be able to fill up with gas and get into the storage compartment.

Isn't the fuel tank release under the dash on the right side and NOT in the glove box ?
The plastic tongue inside the lock is most likely broken. Order yourseld a new glove box lock and you'll have to pry the door open which will preak off the plastic tongue the rest of the way. |
