| Hello everyone, Iwas hoping for a little advice on my Dunebuggy. Im geeting ready to pull out a 1200cc 36hp engine and replace it with a 1600 dual port engine. The buggy is currently a 6v system ill need to switch it over to 12v whats the best way. Starter,battery,bulbs,flywheel, tranny,etc..???? Any help would be great Thank You, Tom |

This guy has a great site and makes the conversion simple. Check it out.
I changed mine for 6 to 12. Lights, gen, regulator and coil was all I did. 6v starter works great on 12v and will for a long time if you keep it tuned up.

| Sounds like you have it down,don't forget a wiper step down unless you like them running at warp speed. most vw shops will put a kit together for you if you ask. |

Don't bother swapping flywheel/starter... mine has been working for years.
