| Let me ask this: has anyone come across the distributor drive shaft not being able to drop into the perpendicular spot to the case? Like it is one tooth off but will not drop into the right spot? |

| I'm less experienced than a lot of the others here, but I've never been unable to seat the drive on any distributor I've used. You might want to post the year, model, engine and distributor type to get some more info... Too much information never hurts. |

It's really no biggie. just so long as you can still set your timing; mine's about 10 degrees off too.
However, there's a tool to remove the distributor drive gear for people who are just totally anal and want it to line up correctly. :lol:

That happened to me too, close, but just didn't want to line up exactly. I was using that same tool to insert the gear, too. |
