HI,
I have an early 55, and a while ago purchased a NOS SWF washer pump that has a vinyl/rubber bag to hold the windshield washer fluid. The kit came with to oblong "S" hooks, one longer than the other to hang the bag. Obviously, one side of each "S" hook goes through one of two grommets of the bag, - but I cannot tell where to hang the hooks from from within the trunk. The only place where it could hand is from the relatively large molding clips going into the trunk that are from the side molding. Other than that there is nothing!!
Where does others hang the container from?

Thanks!

are you going to put stuff in it if not don't put it on

sometimes I'll put liquid in it, when I take the car to show people about the uniqueness of the various aspect of the car; otherwise, I'll keep it dry for most of the time.

The clips were meant to go in the lugbolt holes of the spare wheel/tire in the trunk.

I always thought they hooked on the inside of the trunk sides, hence one hook being longer than the other to keep the bag level. But, not sure what exactly they would hook onto.

What about making up a couple of loops to go around the wing bolts in the wheel well and hook it off those?

The hoses that came with the kit were of predetermined length, and specifically, the tube that goes to the bag is not long enough to go to the spare wheel. I believe justbuggin is right, that it does hang inside of the trunk sides - which would explain the different hook lengths & I believe, I have seen a bag hanging on the inside sideat one of the VW shows - at the time, I never took notice had they had it supported. Good idea about the wing bolts & wire, I'll try that, - just wondering what others do, I can't be the only one with this setup...

I know the later beetles had the reservoir attached to the spare wheel, but don't think that was how the ovals were "traditionally" set up with this aftermarket item.
