You can try to make your own. Use some 1965-later popout frames and the original windscreen. The Aluminum is supple enough to bend easily. Use the sliders & tabs from a Type 2 safari setup.

I think Wolfgang is R and D ing some now. I'm not sure, but I have seen some on a car in HVW's. Call wolfgang 530-246-4264 or www.wolfgangint.com

There was a front windshield offered for split's??

Was this offered by a particular vendor? I have never seen a picture of one, are there any images out there.

There's thing you may want to know first before trying this. You'll need to know and have access to a TIG welder to weld the multiple pieces of pop-out frames together. You still have to be very careful on how you bend them, it still can crumpee/ripple around places if bent. Some metal forming techniques and know-how will need to be applied using this method.

But more importantly, the glass will be bigger then a stock windshield as the glass will now sit on top of the rubber trim/seal. The rubber seal adds some dimension in the overall height/width, but since it will sit on top of that now the glass may need to be increased to loose the excess empty space it now created.

I was making my own set a couple years ago but switched directions on my project. Pretty much used a wodden buck as my glass mock up and hamerformed around it to make a frame. The glass difference (note that my car is chopped so it's lower then stock), the smaller one will fit with rubber trim, bigger one is newer safari glass

That was my firsty attempt, I have come up with a cuple other methods but haven't tried them yet as I'm going a different direction with my car (split windshield safaris) but I may eventually try them out soon anyways.

There were very, very, very few original front pop-outs mfg. for the split & oval window sedans. I'm not 100% on the mfg. or exactly when they were available but I know that there rarer than rare! I saw two early Vw's (52DLX & 56EURO project rides) @ BUG-IN 32 rockin the OG front pops. I s/w the owners b/c of my curiosity & they told me they were some long forgotten left overs fround in the rafters of some VW shop! I have pics of both cars & I'll tray to post them when I get the chance!
