View original topic: Stupid gas tank question

I just bought a fuel tank for my baja. Do they make a sender I can use with a stock fuel gauge - somthing maybe in the cap?

Here is the tank,

The one I got is an end fill.

Thoughts?

Hmmmm that's a good question about the gas cap gauge. Typically you are out of luck with buying an aluminum buggy tank of that type. There are no senders that will work, because obvioulsy there is nowhere to mount one. However, snowmobiles use a gauge that is mounted directly to the Gas cap. I wonder if something like this might work. It is fairly crude, but hey..... The biggest question would be the size of the cap and the thread configuration. Another possible option would be a stick that you could dip into the tank. If it comes out wet, you have fuel. If it comes out dry, well....haha

Check them out here..........

I have actually thought about mounting one of these

inside the tank that turns on a fuel light. I use them in my saltwater tanks to let me know when I need to top off the sump. Nothing more than a dummy light I guess, but better than nothing. I do like the wet stick idea :) .
