I've got an 87 with automatic transmission, power steering and AC, that recently started to buck and lurch. The capaictor fix seemed to work for a few weeks but now it can't be driving without if lurching. The funny thing is, is that it lurches more when I make a sharp turn to the left. Turning to the right - no problem, and by turning to the left very slowly, I can avoid the lurching.
I noticed the wire to the thottle voltage switch was missing its wire clip and had come loose (it was barely connected) so I fabricated a clip, and reconnected the wires. This seemed to have and immediate positive impact in preventing lurching, but its back again and I am wondering if its just loose wiring in the system that's causing all this. Electricity has always been my weak point.
But I sure would like to know what it is about turning left that causes more lurching. I rented a vanagon in Hawaii that had the same problem.
Any help would be appreciated |

| does it do it more at low speeds? what happens when you turn the wheels left when it's idling? does it stall? or just keeps idling like normal? |
