I've just put a wider front end on my rail. The flexible pipes are gong to dangle for miles. They could even touch the ground when turning. What are the alternatives for routing the pipes to avoid this?

What flexible pipes? Do you mean the brake lines?

use some plastic zip ties to hold 'em up, make sure there is enough slack to allow for turning and suspension travel.....

Yep. Like I said in the title

So no point trying to run them down the trailing arms or anything smart like that?

yes, however you do it, be sure you leave enough room for flex where its needed at both ends
