Hey everyone
I just picked up a 73 Super "Sports Beetle" in Calgary last week, and drove it home to Caledon, Ontario. One of my other cars got sold to a guy in Edmonton, so I decided to deliver it out, and drive home in the Super. Bit of a cold trip, but it was dry and sunny for the most part. No real issues, car worked pretty well.
Here are a few photos of the car:
Front end bra and fuzzy dice are coming off.
So are there any meets still going on in the Greater Toronto area over the winter?
cheers

| Hi folks, new to the site, am from just outside Calgary. Owned a 1972 super beetle way back in the mid 80's but it got run over by a big truck. Always wanted to buy another one, so this summer I picked up a 1959 Canadian Standard beetle. It's in rough shape but all the parts are there and the body and pan are mostly sound. Resto starts in the spring when it warms up in the garage. Knowing it would be a few years till I got the 59 back on the road, I also picked up a 1972 Canadian Standard Beetle with a factory sun roof. It runs great, but has a broken bolt on the muffler header so it sounds bad!! Only rust on the 72 is a small hole behind the front two wheels. Will be fixing that this winter :). To the people who run this site!! Great site!!!!!!! Keep up the great work. |

Hello All
Todd Here fom Mississauga Ontario, left the VW scene many years ago, and now wish to come back.
My conquest is to own a '73 Superbeetle Sports Bug in Marathon Blue, all stock.
I'm also looking forward to doing a complete body off restoration to acheive this in the end.
Before I begin this project the better half tells me I have to get rid of my existing toys to generate the funds and clear up the garage. Right now I have a 2005 Harley Davidson 1200 Sportster and a 2003 Yamaha FZ1 Ltd Edition.
If anyone can point me in the right direction it would be very much appreciated either with a 73 Super that will work as a base car to start with, Sports Bug parts (Seats, Steering wheel & Rims), or a complete Sports Bug any colour or condition.
Thanks guys
Todd |
