Black with shiny chrome and trim. You'll need Blu-blockers to be able to look at that car.

Outstanding.

Mark you suck  Just when Savanna could be the prettiest girl at the ball, you pull a rabbit out of your hat like this. GRRRRRR. Okay, it looks kinda good. I am sure you won't go to all the same shows as Savanna.
Derek did a great job. looks really nice. We are going to have a great showing at the type lll invasion. People will be blown away at all the beautiful cars.
Cheers

Thanks...Yep, that's the plan. Fully chromed Fuchs, over-riders on the bumpers, SS trim from ISP West. I've had pretty much everything re-chromed. I still do have to do the door latches and the hood/decklid latches and order bumpers from Anthony.

  Annie don't worry it wasn't some massive conspiracy. :P I don't think she'll be done by the Invasion. :( It's gotten way behind schedule due to the bodywork/paint taking so long. Now that I got the body I'm not stressing trying to get it "done" by some arbitrary date. This is supposed to be fun. I got enough stress at work. I got a TON of work ahead. Re-wiring, interior, rims chromed, engine built/installed/tuned...on the bright side like my buddy said, when I'm done I have a 2006 (or 7...)Notch! \:D/

This is all true. Enjoy it, take your time and do it right.

Took the plastic sheeting off the pan and dusted it off. Put a new pan seal on, painted the body's sealing edge with POR 15 since the painter couldn't get to it all. The guys are coming over on Saturday (weather permitting [-o< ) to mesh the body with the pan. I've got all new stainless steel hardware for the job.

This is what I need to get the square going. Great progress pics! Thanks for the updates.

BSQUARE Tue Feb 21, 2006 12:11 pm

thanks for the motivation. looks awwesome!

one thing though... the swing arm boot should have the screws horizontal, so that the joint can flex rather than compressing.

Notched Tue Feb 21, 2006 12:24 pm

Is that Caterpillar Orange™ ?

Looks fantastic!!

Mahalo to all for the compliments. It's was/is a long process. The accent color is actually more of a caramel tan. I took my uphostery to the paint store and had them match it as best as they could. The interior is that caramel tan vinyl with black/caramel tan tweed inserts with a caramel tan vinyl headliner and oatmeal carpet.

Just checked the Bentley and as Ed McMahon would say "You are correct, sir!" I'll change it. Looks like the seems face to the rear of the car. Thanks for noticing.

BSQUARE Tue Feb 21, 2006 12:55 pm

no problem, i did it too.. it seems like the obvious way to put it on, but having it horizontal does make more sense once you think about it (and see how mr. bentley says to do it)

localboy Tue Feb 21, 2006 1:08 pm

Funny thing is when I bought the car it had the new KCR tranny installed. The boots were at 12 o'clock. I assume KCR did it because it has shorter T1 axles etc and was built drum to drum, all new... :?

Nice attention to detail.......that thing is bad ass 8)

keep posting pics along the way.....

With the threaded part of the bolts sticking up.
Now if you were anal like John Jaranson, you would have put OG non-split axle boots on it. With OG clamps. :)

I should be there for the invasion. My 63 notch is still in Tuckwilla!

bbugman74 Wed Feb 22, 2006 7:41 am

Your car looks great!! I can't wait to see more pics as you progress. Good luck and keep up the good work. :D I have just one question. What's the story on the front apron? It looks like it has half of one mickey mouse grill and the rest is the later model without the horn grills.
