Hi,

Can anyone tell me the internal diameter of the early (1965) T3 Master Cylinder? Also, are any of the Beetle MC's compatible?

Thanks in advance.

Cheers

Its eithor a 19 or 20 mm. I dont have my parts book to be sure but they both work and fit the same. Unless you need a rebuild kit for one you have? Then the size is cast ontop of it.

In '65, Squarebacks were 20 mm and everything else was 19 mm.

Beetle master cylinders don't work because the metal line connections are on the opposite side.

My early 65 square has a 19MM. Some 65's have "reinforced brakes". Thats when they changed from 20 to 19.

There is a difference in the stroke between 36 and the rest.
