Congratulations, I would love to see pictures when you finish the restoration. Good luck.

By Hebster, do you mean Hebmuller?
If so, where on earth do you find NOS parts??

Kubel Nick Tue Aug 23, 2005 8:10 pm

Not a real Heb, he's modifying a standard bug to one, doing a good job too IMO

BTW, nice score hebster. 8)

Yes, as kubel nick said it's going to be a repro of the first prototype made by Hebmüller, based on a wrecked 1952 sedan bodied split. (see my homepage for more details.

The NOS parts are still found here in Finland and also the rest of Europe in the bigger VW events.

I guess its a "standard" Hebmuller then, should look interesting. The shift knob pictured is technically incorrect, its the earlier logo shift knob, the logo would of been the fine line 49 style outer cog logo. I make both types and the one in the pic actually looks like my kdf reproduction since its rather smooth, but again not sure if the details count on this car, looking forward to seeing the body of the car though.

To be really correct there were no standards before -49 int the first place...

And yes I know that the gearknob isn't exactly correct for this particular car but I think it is cool so I will keep it. Maybe I will put it on the T-82e later when that will be finished...

The switches on the dash should also have to be the big ones if I would be really correct... :D

And these NOS!!

I was wondering, how long did vw use that kog logo on the dimpled shift knob. My friend and I were wondering if it would be correct for his 49 standard. Some guys say no kog (that it was only used on kdf cars) and others say it is correct. Any ideas?
Thanks
