The long and short of it is -
The manifold heat riser tube is rusted off:
The junkyard people will not let most of the
split stuff go especially the carb.
They were happy though that I found an engine in their yard having this carb, and especially happy that I took the carb off the engine and brought it to them - ( I was bringing it up to pay for it.)
The owner said he is going to put it right in his home basement.

Those carbs aren't all that hard to find. Some people think they are worth a fortune. One well known crack smoker at the swaps at the Classic in a dirty brown van had a used one under his chicken wire box. I asked how much he said "Five hundred". I asked "Do you smoke your crack in it too??"
But what about the intake it was on with the rusted heat risers?? Wouldn't be a jacketed K would it!? |

IF I can guess what a jacketed K is, I think it was. but there is no way of getting it. So there it sits out in the rain for another 20 years till the winds blow the rust pile away.
Hopefully they'll search for the engine that I found and store it.
At least last time they let me get an oval thermostat and bracket from an oval engine. They don't seem to be so inclined anymore to sell that stuff(oval stuff). Maybe there is no difference between an oval thermo and bracket as compared to the later year ones. anyway got an original.
