This was up for bid once, and no one bid on it. It seemed a good deal for something that was made the same year I was born!! :D

if that is a VW horn, I thought they were always the flat disc type like this (but not chrome of course)

I was wondering if it was a VW horn----I own a 62 15window and know very little about older beetles. If this seller was "full of it" I thought someone would set it straight right away! So it's not a VW part?

That is not a VW horn, period.

I have seen Bosch brand horns like that at all make swap meets before and wondered what they fit.

I emailed him a link to this thread----- He wrote back that he-- LOL --at his mistake and is going to pull the auction and re-post as "unknown" horn. :o

It could be German at least

I can't find his email to me, but I do believe he said it was a Bosch horn. Is this something after all?

Bosch made lots of stuff for lots of cars. If the German Gov't needed sirens or horns for their vehicles, who else would they get them from?

If only the dude could hook it to power and give it a listen...probably pretty damn loud?
