yes i said the samrthing ,,tuna ,, i got more respect for my 412 for that,, if you want to do that ,the minimum you can do, take a porsche mtor or take the v8 tatra air cool motor ,,it was made by porsche,, in the first time ,and the configuration was for rear of the car,,bb412

Why not do it with a small block Chrysler like a 360 or maybe the misnamed 5.7L Hemi ?

There's no replacement for displacement !

My father sold his 69 bug to a guy who stuffed a 455 Toronado engine & tranny in the back. Pretty much undriveable, but was fun for parades.

I know that car....about a 59? Chopped, in black primer last I saw it?

I haven't seen it in years though.

Or an 8k Cayenne engine in a $500 car, post pics when its done so we can put it in the abortions thread and everyone can wonder why people do what they do with all their money and time. It would be one of the many "what were they thinking" VWs.

My favorite sleeper was a 914 with a 350 Chevy, heavily muffled. Quiet, utterly stock looking, save for the "914 5.7" badge in place of the stock "914 1.7" one. Probably handled pretty well still, with the mid-ship engine. But when the light changed, that thing just plain disappeared! I never got a look at it in a corner!
