Guys, I'm restoring a '56 bug and I'm trying to find a paint color. I think the color is a split, not oval. I really like the grey/green. Found it several places but don't know what the code is.
Page 57, bottom, of VW Beetle The New Custom Handbook.
I can't really find any pictures on the net that come close.
Anyone have an idea what code that is?

Yes, I've seen the paint chips but can't tell anthing from them. Photos are the only way. I'll hunt up a photo and attach it.

if that truly is a concours car & was resprayed its og colour, i would say that russ is correct. L11 pastel green.
you could always contact bbt and ask them about "the judges car" to confirm tho. |

I did a search for pastel green and found a couple that were dead-on.
When researching colors I saw another car that was supposed to be that color but it was a funky '70s light green. Thanks for setting the record straight. I'm going to look at a couple more cars in this color. I like it!
Ordering the paint either this week or next week.
Thanks for the help!!

Get it custom matched. The PPG color code in their computer system is too yellow. I have had it mixes about 3 times at 2 different places before I sat and hand tinted it myself. Dupont doesn't have it on record. It was a nightmare to get it right.

| 3 of my friends in CT each have split windows in that color; their cars are indeed pastel green. |

Jim! Hey thanks for those high quality J pipes! Outstanding attention to detail. You must be a machinist. I just cleaned up the flange a little with a file and tapped it onto the pipe. Didn't even weld it yet. Fits super. Beautiful work.
