Are the original round wire wiper arms stamped with any brands? SWF maybe, Bosch? Or just nothing...?

They are stamped. I forget if its the logo or the words. I have a NOS set at home and can check.

Thanks Kevin, that would be great. I have what is supposed to be an original set but it has no logos or scripts stamped. Maybe it belongs to another car. I heard this kind of wipers were common in Europe in the 50s?

Sorry, I misread your question. Yes, the arms don't have anything on them. The bases do. I think the blades do as well, but I have to double check.

That is it, I was trying to ask about the blades, not the arms or bases. If you could check, that would be great. Thanks again.

As far as I know there is NOT enough room for ANY writing on the blades....?

Some blades will have the Bosch logo and letters on them (if they are Bosch). Most do not.

That is what I recall on mine. I recall the Bosch logo on the blade, but want to be sure.

I know that both sets of my NOS ones do not have any branding on the blades, they are just plain chrome...the only branding is on the round wire bases and they have the VW logo on them.To be correct there is also a left and right arm as well.
I think originally there is no branding on the blades but I have seen some generic replacement blades from a much later vintage that have the Bosch logo on them...these were probably used on many European cars of a similar vintage.
My thoughts anyway.!!

Most of the Bosch logo'ed blades I have seen are stainless steel, not chrome. Would lead me to beleive that they are some later replacement blades....

I had several sets of NOS SWF round wiper blades bought years back. These were marked for Pre oct `52 with Parts numbers and VW designation. They were chrome and no stamp or logos at all.

These are SWF not bosch maybe bosch is different...but my bases are SWF also. But these were real deal. Sold my last spare set on the samba about 2 weeks ago. I still have sets for my cars if someone needs pics.

Anyone have a complete set of wipers that they want to trade for an original 1952 Owners manual in extremely nice shape. I have one for January and one for June. I would ay they are near mint. One only has a crease in the middle of cover, and the other has a few light spts from aging on a few pages. Can send photos. They are very nice, and great looking.

I checked. My wipers blades have a Bosch sign with "Germany" right next to it.

My "buddy", nos-germany, AKA Romano, sells them all the time.......except that they are from some other car (opel,Nsu,etc.). They are never....NEVER correct for VW. Just an note of caution before you think you are getting a good deal from that jerk.

Kevin, are they chrome? Asking because of the other comment here about a "stainless steel" (?) version?
