I already asked this question in the ovals area, but because the part has more in common with a split, I'll ask it here too.—
Recently I pulled the drums on my 53 oval. Overall the brakes were in great shape but the seals on the wheel cylinders were brittle. The front drivers side was actuallyleaking fluid.
I went ahead and started the brake job but I have found it hard to find a rebuild kit for the cylinders as the cores are still in good shape. The main thing is I want to keep the car original with the four bolt cylinders. The front ones are 19mm and I believe the backs are 16mm.
Are there parts that I can scavenge from other more common cylinders? What are my options? Has anyone else encountered this problem when redoing their brakes as well? What is the best thing to do? Please help if you can. |

| Go to NAPA, ask for 3/4 for the 19mm and if the rears are 17 use 11/16. 16 would be 5/8. All you usually need are the cups anyway. |
