Is a split bug jack (round lift arm) the same height as say an oval and newer style (square lift arm) ? Does a Barndoor use the same jack , or a taller one ? I have one and am trying to ID which it's for . TROY

Only Pre '48 VWs used the round jacking plug. VW changed the receptacle to a square shape in '49 due to the fact many cars were slipping off of the jack when raised. Pre '48 jacks look like this:

| OK the search goes on then . This jack came with a bunch of old VW & Porsche parts and is made by Bilstein (sp) , maybe early 356 ? TROY |
