cons: rusted rockers, rough body, no brakes,1pc windows, im sure theres more.

for sale after i get her daily drivable, untill hen let the rat look begin.

because you are looking for a deal like that -- you know they never come around when you are ready for them....

Was that a deal?
A:1500 is now long gone, and has some messed with 1600.
B: rusty

Not my dream car

Have fun though. :D

Some of us like to do welding for a hobby. It is not work... :)
I sold my 1500S pistons to pay for the 1600's so I wouln't have to buy high test gas.

was it a deal? depends on who u are. me personally im not a purist.

if its a 53 barndoor 23 window well yea, or a 49 split. but to me the fact that is now a 1600 and has rust are just the woes of the vw world. id end up throwin in a 1776 if i keep it, and the rust, well i do paint and body for a living. no problems there. put it in the dirt, and and drive it i say.

i have owned just about every vw you could think of except a early notch. and i have never ever left any one 100% stock. but thats just me.

funny though, as stated you cant look for a good deal. i scored this by some guy seeing my fleet driving by, he stopped in and the rest is history.

It's a sweet deal

I usually see a notch selling for at least $1200 in ruff condition near me. Running & driving for $700 sounds like a good deal. Hope the previous owner did not put a type 1 motor in there, if so it will no last long.
