I have noticed a very robust community here around everything Fuel injection. Unfortunately, the discussion is typically spread across different vehicle forums and the performance/engine forum. Why don't we help everyone come together on FI in one forum? It is a complex topic that will benefit greatly by pooling resources and should have more than enough visitors to justify its existence.
Thoughts? |

Different models have different types of fuel injection, and I feel that it would be best to keep them divided as they are now by model. There are some repair/ diagnostic procedures that are applicable to DigiJet (Type 3) injection, that have nothing whatever to do with AFC (late Bus) or CIS- CIS-E (watercooled sedans). Then there is diesel injection.....
It would be fine for those who are very experienced in different injection systems and fuel injection speak, but it can get very confusing for those who aren't.
I say leave it alone. keep it model- specific. |

| My point has less to do with OEM FI than it does with performance adapted OEM FI and aftermarket EFI. The current proliferation of open source EFI like MegaSquirt and aftermarket supplier based EFI makes model specificity a difficult contextual constraint on these kinds of discussions. For the performance and customization minded, the model applies less than the abstract and conceptual. |

| I'd have to agree with Tram - Let's keep T3 injection in the T3 section, and others in their respective homes. I think if you're really talking about performance FI, you might want to see if you can get a sticky thread in the engines/perf section. There's a lot of great talk about the various aftermarket solutions there. Personally, I like knowing that when I come to the T3 section, we'll be talking about D-Jet. :) |

Performance/ engine forum. Again, let's not confuse novices with aftermarket vs OEM when they may not get all the jargon.
Please take into consideration that I personally feel that D Jet is the shizzle. |

I am so excited that I am getting a complete D Jet to reinstall in my '71, I'm giddy. Should be in the mail this week! |

| Heck why not? I voted yes. I own 412's with both D-Jet and L-Jet from the factory (I don't know my way around those very well yet), as well as having experience with K-Jet/KE-Jet. Though these systems are quite different, there is a common knowledge base. I don't see these systems as "model" specific and belonging to any one type of car, as often they were in several different models at one time, not to mention maybe even other brands of vehicles. |

You can talk about aftermarket or stock FI in the Engine - Performance forum. Or in the specific vehicle for for the car you have.
If you think another forum will help... ask Everett. It's his decision. |

| I figured best to ask peoples opinions first. If no one wants it, there's no reason to ask. Looks like the Nays have it so far. |

It seems more applicable to keep the Type 3 FI questions in the Type 3 Forum and all aftermarket stuff in the Performance/Engines Forum.
I can see some overlap from Type 3/Type 4 but that's true of a lot of things with those 2 series of cars. |
