Has anybody used the sidewinder system that Tiger makes.....thinking about one on a 2110 in a 63 bug

I've talked with two people that have used the Sidewinder system and both were extremely please. One was in a 2270cc KG and the other was a 1971cc 912. They are really nice systems, and I can say that my header/muffler from him was top-notch. It's not in the car yet (still building the engine), but the build quality is excellent.

Got one in my bus, 1 5/8 A1 from Tiger, Serranos 2110 cc alum. case, 48 idf's, CB wedgeports, engle 120, pauter 1.3's, 8 to 1, all the goodies etc.....

So far kicks ass, but I've only just begun the breakin on my engine, so I haven't gotten on it yet.

ive thought about one for my bus they look great and tiger does do great work....one question though can you fit the stock rear apron with no mods on your bus?

Yes, no problems at all. It tucks nicely underneath. I'll try to take more pics of how it fits with the stock apron on when I get home today.

Perfect amount of noise, not too loud. It's mean and smooth flowing (I love my setup, can't wait to get past break in).

The exhaust is most excellent, build quality is outstanding.

Tiger built a 1 3/4" for me '60eurorag;fits perfect even with my 6 1/2"BRM's with 205 tires!Definitely worth the money! If you want a good look at the setup go to the OVW show in Escondido on Dec.3rd

Very nice set-up..was curious if the muffler interferes with the #1 & #2 valve adjustment, meaning do have enough room to access it?

yeah, not much room to get at those valves without removing the muffler, but once it's all dialed in - good to go for a good while.

My bus is fairly low so this exhaust was perfect for fit and performance and it looks awesome (at least to me). With the rear apron on and the rear bumper, there's not much to see aside from the tail pipe behind the rear wheel.

I'm running 195/50's all the way around, 1 inner and 1 outer notch in the rear sitting level in the front. This exhaust tucks up nice and tight.

Can you run your large pulley tin? It looks like that no. 1 cylinder pipe interferes with where the tin goes...just curious. Kick ass looking system, though!

thanks, everything stock (apron, tins) fit back on with no issues. Only downfall is removing the muffler to adjust the valves on the one side. Another reason I would recommend this exhaust...aside from the exhaust itself, great customer service.

I'll try to post some more pictures with the apron, tin and rear bumper when I get a free moment.

I can adjust the valves on my beetle ok,slight pain in the ass by removing the wheel, also had no problem with engine tin or tire clearance(I'm running 205 65's on 6 1/2"BRM's)

cal-look.com has a black one on the home page.....last i heard around 4 bills for the exhaust

gerg Wed Nov 16, 2005 1:36 pm

So if 4 bills is rough estimate - how can I get in touch with Tiger? I'm in!

Thanks Jake!

I called Tiger and got the HOOK UP! 8)

Can't wait - that is an amazing looking header. :P

Is there a forward hanger for the muffler?

Going on a 1914cc, 44's, 110 cam, full flow, straight gears & BMD pulleys.
