| It would be helpful if parts ads would indicate what year vehicle a part came off of. I know many parts work on 68-79 or 68-71, etc. I like to find parts that came off my year first and then maybe settle for one that will work from another year if I can't find my year. Is that anal? |

Anal? Maybe.
But it's getting more and more common as bay owners are shooting for original restorations like the split owners have been. |

Problem is, I've pulled off 79 injection from a 73 bus, calipers for the wrong year bus, wrong injection computers, etc ... a 1.8 carbed that had AFC 914 injection on it .... etc etc ....
It's hard to know if what you pulled off came from a particular year van,.
I'd hate to see someone advertise a CB engine and 002 tranny from a 79 Westy, and the person doesn't know the CB is a 1.7 and a 3 rub tranny from a 72 .....
So, I think it'll cause more problems than one would hope it would fix ...
In all fairness to a lot of sellers, they pull these parts of busses and store them for year, who remembers what year the part came off of when they have a pile of 50 ??
Noble idea, but I don't think it's best for the customer .... |
