Taking the ring off of that type of diaphragm should be fine. the fingers are raised up at the tips just under the ring right? That trany mount adaptor should be ok I have never run one but I have used those urethane mounts and they do transmit engine some noise and vibration if that is a concern.

Is there any good way to judge the condition of seals on the transmission, especially the input shaft and drive flange seals?

I got the transmission without oil, and I really don't want to fill it up and then find out they are shot.

if they are bad and I have found most of the time they are bad along with the hockey stick you can get both bushing ,seal and the hockey stick new from Weddle Industries for right round 30.00. If its a 091 6 rib trany there is no bushing to ware out there is pin bearings and I have never seen them ware out so just replace the seal.

Yup, it's a type 1 so shes got the bushing. Alright, I guess I will get new seals all the way around. Thanks for your help guys.

Alright, cross shaft stuff...

So I got the cross shaft bushing set that was for non split cases threw 1972. Well, apparently my 72 was a late model that has the 20mm cross shaft, not the earlier 16mm one that the kit was made for. I could just buy a different kit, but honestly, 10 bucks a kit, 5 bucks shipping...not worth it. I could just as easy turn a bushing for it out of bronze. I know the internal dimension has to snugly fit the 20mm shaft, but what about the outer diameter of the bushing? Does anybody have any clue or can measure what that is?

About the hockey stick...

I have to say that it has zero in and out play when it is in gear, but it has some rotational slop...is it normal for the stick to be able to rotate a few degrees when twisted?
