What can I say. Glenn Ring is the man! Anybody that knows me or reads anything I post here knows I like to "pick on" my pal Glenn.
Well, this afternoon I was invited into Glenn's secret underground lair (010 Headquarters) for the first time. We browsed thru some extremely cool stuff Glenn has accumulated thru the years and we also attempted a rebuild on an old 034 distributor I had for my 1500. Long story short......... My dizzy had seen better days and after a couple of hours of cleaning and rebuilding, Glenn decided it would be better if I just "take" his already rebuilt 034! What a guy. I will continue to tear into Glenn in the rants but here I will tell you, Glenn is the best. Look no further than Glenn for ANY distributor needs you may have. He's got lots of knowledge and wisdom in that old grey head of his. A+ to GLENN RING!

Although I have been sworn to certain "secrecies", here are some pics I can let into circulation. Enjoy.

Glenn,

92.7?

Geez.

Glenn Sat Nov 19, 2005 3:09 pm

Damn Steve... didn't you just leave a few minutes ago?

Rob.. it's a thick T-shirt and keeps the dirt off me. It's better than ruining a Samba T-Shirt.

BTW... notice the website on the computer? :-k

Steve offered to lick all my distributors, but i still haven't been able to get the one clean from the last time.

Glenn did an incredible job rebuilding the ZV/PAU 4 R 6 for my '62 Type 3. It's like new. Thanks again, Glenn.

I have yet to buy from Glenn. I did e-mail him and ask about a distributor and he pointed me in another direction instead of selling me one of his. I appreciate the fact that he was willing give me info about what would work best for my needs and not just sell me something that I didn't really need.

Thanks,
Jeff

Glenn once sent me some distributor parts. They were nice. He is a pretty good guy too, or at least that's the rumor.

Stevie Fierce Fri Oct 13, 2006 4:19 pm

glenn is actually pretty scary. it frightens me how nice he is and how helpful he is. kinda weird actually. aside from all his vw help...... when i bought a new computer, i brung it his house and he hooked the whole thing up for me. set up all the security stuff and installed programs and...... whatever, the guy is awesome.... and if anyone other than me EVER makes fun of him, i'll beat you up!!

After much search Glenn came up with a 010 with a perfect badge. I had been after one of a high caliber, and thats what I got. Glenn even called me to school me on the different possible set-up (points vs electronic) Thanks ole' boy........

I had misplaced the nut to secure my steering wheel back on my '74 Thing after removing it to replace a the ignition switch.

I searched and was unable to find one locally.

After I posted a message on the forums, Glenn sent me a PM and said he would have one in the mail today.

Thanks again Glenn your a great asset to the aircooled community.

Cheers,
B.
