Hello everyone.
I just bought a 1965 Type 1 that was disassembled for paint in 1984 and never put back together. The car came with tons of parts in boxes, bags, and Tupperware containers. Some of the parts are new and in their original boxes.
I started bolting on the running boards (sounds easy right) but then I found myself guessing on which nuts, bolts & spacers to use.
I could just guess on which parts go where and probably get the car running but I'd rather do it right the first time.
I need to buy a book with all of the schematics for the reassembly. Does this book exist??? What is the best book out there with the entire parts breakdown for a 65 beetle? What book(s) should every beetle owner own?

Thanks - Jake

Get the Bentley shop manual.

Also contact: www.wolfsburgwest.com and get a catalog. Alot of drawings and exploded views to help you, and most of they're parts are the best available. Good Luck!

Welcome!

As already said: get a Bentley.

Here are some sites that have good exploded views and drawings and have all been useful to me:

Thanks :D
I went down to a local bug shop and checked out the Bently book. That's exactly what I needed. They hooked me up with an Empi catalog too. I appreciate the help.

That Empi catalog comes in handy when the legs on your table aren't the same length.
