All it takes is $$$ and lots of it!

1179.00 Euro is 1,382.46 USD!!

You can go cheaper with the Wolfgang kit but it does not include the master cylinder, calipers, pads etc. AND you have to use 15" rims because 14" will not clear the calipers...... is 1/2 the price of the CSP worth it?

You can go cheaper even by going to the scrapyard and pulling a set of spindles-rotors-calipers from the so common fatchicks in there. :P

I'm considering doind just that for my truck. 8)

Then you need 2 spares........ a 5x112 for the front and a 5x205 for the rear.

Or you bolt on a set of matching drums and backing plates from the same year Bus you swiped the calipers and spindles from.

Many ways to skin a cat! :P

Or you can keep the original brakes and do leg lifts at the gym along with the rest of your New Year's resolution work-outs.

I have a complete beam caliper to caliper out of a 71 bay.
Just needs the brake booster and master cylinder.

That is not going to happen. 68 to 70 stub axles are longer.
The hub part of the 68-70 rear drums stick out further then 71-79 hubs.
If you put later hubs on 68-70 stub axles, you will run out of threads long before the nut gets close to the hub.

To the person that said to get adaptors: MICKEY MOUSE

The only way that would even resemble a remote possiblity would be to put them on the rear so you had 4 5x112 wheels. But then the flat 71+ hubcap won't fit because the axle nut sticks out too far.

karl,

if you wanted narrow 5 on the rear of a 68-70 bus, could you take the entire rear suspension assembly - from the bearing housing on out - from a 5x112 bus and bolt it up to a 68-70 bus?

Hey wait a minute! There's nothing wrong with Mickey Mouse!

I've run a late disc brake fatchick beam on my '65 for 10 years without a single issue concerning the Wolfgang adapters. Matter'O'factly YOU wouldn't even notice if I weren't to tell you!

Again, many ways to skin a cat, but whatever blows your skirt up! :P

I'll prolly "disc brake" my '68 truck and have the option to go either way. Adapt the rotors to wide-5 running 5-spokers or replace the drums to narrow-5 and ride on Benzo rims! 8)

Just buy the entire fat chick and convert front AND rear brakes so you can have one spare. The brakes of a later model are fabulous. I did that on my old '69.

Don't have to go THAT far. I have a "chance" at a complete set of running gear (front and back) already "detached" from the body. I'm highly considering it. Hell, I may get it just for a future install! :P

I installed a front disk, rear drum set up off a '73 onto my '68 crewcab a long time ago. The '73 rear hub & drum bolted right up with no problems. I used OZ wheels, and the center caps cleared.
