View original topic: in the interest of safety..3rd brakelight

hi all i finally got around to installing my 3rd brakelight and thought you all could benefit from a little piece of mind that others can see you are braking. i was sick and tired of lexus's and bmws roaring up to my bumper then braking. we all know our tail lights and brakelights could be better. i took this from a diahtsu charade wagon at pick and pull .total was $4.00... money ahead in my book...about an hour labor was all it took. i think that it looks like it came there from the factory... pics are in the squareback gallery under alex608

My late model taillights throw out plenty of light...it's just the idiot driver's that are the issue, not the lights

it's a cool idea, though!
If a third brake light was built into a one piece hinge cover for squares, that would rock, too.

Hey, that's a good idea!

I was thinking more along the lines of a torpedo launcher. It's just a more permanent solution to the problem.

I went to the bike shop and got a small vintage-looking red bullet light that I put in the back window I wired it in line with the drivers side brake lite. Looks good and works like a charm.
