| Hey E.B., just wondering about mercury SUV banner that I saw......Are these types of ads something that we will start to see? I try to sponser the VW based businesses that sponser the samba.....but I probably won't buy a mercury anytime between now and hell freezing over.....if they are sponsering us too, great, but i guess the non-vw content has a bit of a commercial feel. It's a spot where a pertinent business or service could be...any thoughts? |

it helps pay the bills... would you rather EB said the hell with it and dropped the site?
i for one would hate for that to happen. |

Unofficial count a few minutes ago, 28336 current ads. :shock:
Not including the approximately 8000 pages of gallery pics, all the technical info and archives section.
All free by the way.
Someone has to pay for it. :wink: |

Don't worry about paying the bills...
Yes, I have noticed that banner shows a lot lately. It is one of the Google banners that we have running on the site, which we have no real control over. Usually they are pretty random but for some reason that one is showing A LOT. I guess Mercury paid a lot of money to get a super high rotation through the Google Ad Network.

Google banners do not take away from available VW advertiser space.
Each VW banner is set to display a specific number of impressions per day. When the amount of page views exceeds this, a Google banner appears. |
