hi this is my first time in one of these things and i'm looking for some advise. i am looking into buying my first vw through the classified ads on this site but as i live in the uk does anyone know about import taxes on vehicles?
the seller has given me the selling and shipping cost which are fine but i need to know if i am goig to be hit with another big bill when the vehicle gets here |

in one word yes sorry.
vat on the price you paid for the car at the uk customs
regastration of the car at the dvla to get a uk no plate that is a fixed price ,valid mot. add about 20/30% onto the total of the car and you have a rough idea
