There is an upper and lower switch, did you check both?

No..... in fact the Bently has NADA on these. REal weird stuff. For the life os me I could not get the lights to go off and then I drove to my mechanic's (was closed) and when I got home they were off. Are you reffering to the light switch on the dash?
Got my curiousity.

I think what Dogpilot was refering to was the two switches on the master it self. When your lights are "mystery" on, remove a wire from each switch, one at a time to see if the lights go out.
I had a similar situation happen to me once. It seemed it was hotter~n~blazes though. I just replaced a switch on the the master and the problem was fixed. |

| I've had a bad switch on the master make the brake lights only come on when the pedal was all the way down. I found that the switches are the same for a bunch of VWs and got a pair for a few bucks. Changed both switches while I was in there. |
