| I need a part from a vanagon with a weekender interior. The part I need is the little release gizmo for the table. It is a male metal spring loaded part on the table that presses into a female reciever on the sidewall of the van. There aren't any yards with this kind of van where I live in Idaho. Any suggestions on where I can find this part? |

Hey there, fellow Idahoan! Welcome to The Samba. You'll find this to be an excellent source of information. Have you tried looking at Bus Depot, Go Westy, or any other Vanagon parts website? (I am just down the road in Pocatello.)
Good luck! |

Thanks for the welcome. Glad to see Idaho represented. I haven't posted much on the Samba forums, but this is where I found my Van (1987 Syncro, non-camper Weekender).
In terms of your suggestions, I tried VanCafe and BusDepot, GoWesty is closed for the Holiday. One of my problems is finding a part #. It isn't listed in my Bentley nor have I found it online. The guy at VanCafe said my best chance would be through a wrecking yard, but it would be best if I can find a wrecking yard that specializes in VWs.

I've had good results with BW dismantlers in Roseville, CA. The guy there pulled a bumper end for me and shipped it that day. Not sure how prices compare because the part I bought was not available anywhere else.
