| Is the oval just a split window with the center post cut out? Our is the whole window area a different size all together. I have seen the kit that was made to make your split into an oval back in the day. If only they knew. |

| Oval glass is curved split glass is flat, not just a bar in the middle I would imagine |

| The glass opening is completely shaped differently. The ends of the opening are higher up on a Split vs the Oval. If you were to install a center bar in an oval opening, it would look out of place. Those oval kits your referring to came with it's own oval-shaped glass. That glass was shaped differently when compared to an oem 1953-57 Sekurit/Duroglas piece. |

Louvers are pretty much the only similarities. As said, split glass is flat, oval is curved. Top of both is the same, the split has a symetical bottom but the oval's is more oblong. Here's a pict of my '47 section vs my '56 section, you can see the curve shape on the bottom of the oval is a little goofy looking (not a true oval shaped)

| Glenn is correct...I have had the glass fom that split to oval conversion kit in my hand and compared it to stock 53-57 glass.Completely different opening with the center bar cut out compared to a oval opening. |
