Hi, i was wondering if someone knows if the kit that cip1 has right now, for the 52 thru 67 bus kit will work on a 55 and earlier bug? any info? thanks

Good question because I know that the bus sunroofs and 3 fold sunroofs are very very similar other than the length and width.

Yes, the rebuild kit will work. You'll just have some extra guide blocks since the Type 2 kit requires more than a Type 1. I got mine from Wolfsburg West (Part #241 875 000)

You're in luck, as I stated before using the Type 2 kit will leave you with extra parts. I've got an extra set of 4 guide blocks available for $25/shipped. Private message me if you're interested.

What are you working on Yustrn? Still have that split rag or this black one?
Who owns the green car?I think 'Cory' was mentioned as the owner in another thread.

Is it the same car as this? Are there any more pics of this car, it's pretty slick.

Those were both Corey's cars. The Black one sold

Yustrn Tue Jan 10, 2006 9:26 am

Both cars are sold, splits are SO first half of 2000.....it's 06 time to change up the game.

The black one belongs to 55Bundts brother. That shit is almost restored now. Narrowed beam on tuck status

Good to hear that they have gone to good owners.

Yeah and i bought the split rag, after yustrn sold it to a guy in so-cal. The primered split, as the guy didnt know much about early cars, I have owed alot of ovals, but nothing pre 55, so this is new to me. This will never be a show car, but it will be pretty nice, considering the weld in stuff  But i will be driving this on weekends, oh it is rhd now also. Hey yustrn, do you know any good chrome plating shops around sac? Need to get the bumpers done.

Ok, i was wondering if anyone has installed this kit on their car? The ragtop rebuild kit on their car, and also if they have pics. The one i bought has the small slide blocks, and they are tapped, hmmm... Rare air that posted perviously has rivets next to the identical blocks. Someone have pictures or the know how and can explain? thanks and any help would work

Where are you rare air? I need a little info on how to install these guide blocks. thanks

RareAir Tue Jan 24, 2006 11:25 pm

I bought the rebuild kit from Wolfsburg West. As for being the blocks being threaded, mine weren't. They were drilled and I used rivets to secure them to the bows. Here's another pic: (Arrows depict where the guide blocks go)

Here's what my original guide blocks and tabs looked like:

Thanks, mine looks just like yours except they still have the factory pins, so i just drill them out? Then install them with rivets? thank you very much
