Ok, I did a search and was unable to find the info I seek.

If your Bug has been converted to 12 volts, how difficult is it to replace your old 6 volt wiper motor with a later model, say '68. '69 or '70 model 12 volt motor?

My old 6 volt motor has quit and I have a later model motor still installed in the parts car in my driveway that I can pull out and install in my '66 if it'll fit. The trick is finding the time.

Thanks in advance,
Ron

I found a few old threads... I typed in just "wiper" and used my login for the "author" and got only 20 hits in this forum...

then just wiper with no author and got 292 hits.

If you use "wiper" and type in a couple of other "author" (s) like bill may and dstefun or others who you see answer electrical type posts you can find threads that they posted in and narrow that 292 down... the search works ... you just gotta "work it"

Since you have a 66, a 67 -68 motor is good if you have one.

I have a bunch of wiper motors/etc. if you get in a bind and can't find what you need.

64 and earlier wipers " park" the opposite side and require some mods if using the later motor ( a good post about that in one of the threads below)

I had a 12V motor in my 64 and the problem with it was that the wipers would sit high when parked. Sometimes they'd sit at the correct spot, but not very often. So I put the 6V one back in and a potentiometer setup I got from buggyhouse so I can control the voltage going to it. It works great that way. Only problem I had with it was the solder joint for + came undone so I had to resolder it with a solder gun. Hasn't broke off since.

ok one more time if you still have the 6v motor take the back off it will have two gears one large and one small on it. now take the back of the 12v motor and replace it with the 6v gears. now you wipers will park .
